Small Projects: Ceiling Fixture Cover

Have I mentioned that our apartment is old? Like, really old. Gas lamp old. That's right. When we removed the awful-looking light fixture in the living room so that we'd have an obstruction-free zone between the projecto and the screen, we found a sawed-off gas pipe. It was not pretty.

Something had to be done. We decided that by finding some concave light fixture cones we could at least make it look a little better. To my horror, we couldn't find anything that went down far enough to cover the pipe. So we combined two covers and got creative!

Grant worked on connection a smaller plate to a larger moulding.

I covered the smaller one with a bit of colorful fabric I had in a drawer.

Looks so much better!

Not perfect, but it'll do! What do you think?
