Style Award: Solange Knowles

This installment of Style Awards is honoring the lovely Solange Knowles. While she began her career as the younger (and often copycat) sister of diva Beyonce, she's spent the past decade or so blazing a trail of her own. Her music is more hipster than it is "Hero" and her style has followed suit. She resides in Brooklyn with her son and her style reflects the eclectic and fashion-forward nature of the borough. Solange incorporates menswear looks, rock-and-roll edge and tribal patterns, all while showing girls that natural hair is just as fab as bleach blonde lace fronts. Solange, you're the only reason I'd take the L east--let's hang out and go shopping!

Here's how I could get her look for myself--at a budget that's more Cooper and less Knowles!
